Some engines don't just run. They speak. Kenneth Paul Block built a career out of making machines say things no one had ever heard before — and the Hoonicorn V2 was his loudest, most violent, most beautiful sentence.

Block was not supposed to be a racing driver. Born in Long Beach, California on November 21, 1967, he came to motorsport late — debuting in rally racing in 2005 at the age of 37, after co-founding DC Shoes in 1994 with Damon Way and building it into a global action sports brand before selling to Quiksilver in 2004. He won Rookie of the Year in his very first season. In 2010, he became the first American to compete in the World Rally Championship. By then, the Gymkhana video series he launched in 2008 was already reshaping what automotive content could be — precision driving as cinema, tire smoke as choreography, closed-course tarmac as an artist's canvas. More than half a billion total views across the ten-part Gymkhana series. Millions of subscribers. A cultural footprint that reached NASCAR, MotoGP, Formula 1, rally, rallycross, and every kid who ever watched a car move and felt something they couldn't name. He was also the co-founder of Hoonigan Industries — the apparel, media, and racing brand that turned hooligan driving culture into a global movement. He didn't just race. He invented an entirely new language for what a driver could be.

The Ford Mustang Hoonicorn V2 was the instrument he played better than anything else on earth. Built on a 1965 Ford Mustang notchback platform with a tubular ASD Motorsports chassis and RTR carbon fiber body panels, the car debuted as the Hoonicorn V1 for Gymkhana SEVEN in 2014 — the world's first all-wheel-drive performance Mustang ever constructed, producing 845 horsepower from a 410 cubic inch Roush Yates Ford V8 mated to a Sadev six-speed AWD sequential transmission. Then Block went further. For Gymkhana TEN, the team added twin Garrett GTX3584RS turbochargers pushing over 20 psi of boost into a custom Switzer Dynamics intake manifold, running on methanol through 16 individual 1,050cc fuel injectors. The result: 1,400 horsepower and 1,250 lb-ft of torque fed to all four corners — a machine capable of vaporising its Toyo tires before the driver's brain could register the throttle input. Block described it as the scariest thing he had ever driven. The updated stars-and-stripes V2 livery, with its grey-to-black reflective fade and red, white, and blue overlay, became one of the most recognised automotive graphics in internet history. He used this car to storm the streets of Atlanta in Gymkhana TEN and to climb Pikes Peak in Climbkhana, leaving tyre marks on American tarmac that will never fully disappear.

On January 2, 2023, Block died in a snowmobile accident near his ranch in Utah. He was 55 years old. The motorsport world stopped in unison. Jenson Button called him "a true visionary with his own unique style and infectious smile." Lewis Hamilton said he always lived life to the fullest. MotoGP declared his legacy would live on forever. His racing number 43 was permanently retired from the 2023 World Rally Championship. Hoonigan stated plainly: "Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon." He left behind his wife Lucy, three daughters, and a creative legacy that will accelerate long after the engines have gone quiet.

This premium Kenneth Paul Block Hoonicorn tribute graphic tee carries that entire legacy on a single white base. The Hoonicorn V2 in illustrated full-color detail. The Hoonigan bracket wordmark. The DC Gymkhana Project badge. A Spanish tribute inscription shared across the global automotive community after his passing: "Si el alma existe, los motores deben tener una porque se quejan, se desesperan, se rebelan y se comportan como niños." And at the base, the memorial that says everything: 43ver. Kenneth Paul Block. 1967–2023.
